RevContent Included Among the ‘50 Most Trustworthy Companies of 2018’ by The Silicon Review

SARASOTA (October 19, 2018) – RevContent was honored as one of the ‘50 Most Trustworthy Companies of 2018’ by The Silicon Review, one of the world’s most trusted online and print media companies for business and technology professionals.

“The Silicon Review 50 Most Trustworthy Companies of the Year 2018 program identifies companies which are successful in bringing more service to the IT and Business world than others, and earning a spot on this list indicates the company has distinguished itself from peers by proving itself more valuable in terms of reliability, loyal customer base, innovation, and market position” said Sreshtha Banerjee, Editor-in-Chief of The Silicon Review Magazine. “The publication has selected RevContent based on its consistency in performance, product/service reliability, partnerships/collaborations, transparency, financial status, and the ability to reach customer/client expectations.”

Trust is a cornerstone of RevContent’s business, and the company reemphasized the importance of that value by introducing two industry-first partnerships in 2018 aimed at improving brand safety and corporate trust for its network of publisher and advertiser clients.

“Trust is not something that happens overnight,” said RevContent CEO and Founder John Lemp. “It is something that develops over time and requires constant focus. Being included on this list is a testament to the hard work our staff has put in since our inception in 2013 to ensure that we are reliable partners, open to change and committed to constant improvement.”

In 2018, RevContent launched initiatives aimed at improving ad quality and eliminating fake news and misinformation. To improve ad quality, Lemp and RevContent worked with the National Center on Sexual Exploitation to eliminate sexually explicit content from its vast network completely. After months of work, RevContent became the first network to receive an endorsement from the NCOSE for ad quality. The partnership built trust with partners and gave RevContent an independent organization to be transparent with and accountable to moving forward.

“Their regular compliance audits, human review process, and continued collaborative dialogue with the National Center on Sexual Exploitation set them apart as a company that is dedicated to doing its part for a world free from sexual exploitation,” said Patrick Trueman, president and CEO of NCOSE. “We invite other companies in this industry, such as Outbrain and Taboola, to follow RevContent’s lead and work with us for socially responsible native advertising.”

Later in 2018, RevContent turned to the Poynter Institute’s International Fact Checking Network to address fake news and misinformation.

RevContent revised its policy for fake news to remove the financial incentive for publishers to post misinformation. In the new policy, if two independent fact checkers within the International Fact Checking Network flag a story as false from a publisher within the RevContent network, RevContent removes its content recommendation widget from that piece of content and withholds any revenue generated by that piece of content.

“It is up to us to not only improve the RevContent network but also to identify ways to improve the industry as a whole,” Lemp said.

In addition to increased brand safety measures, RevContent also launched the AutomaticRev program, which offers a 50 percent guaranteed uplift in revenue for RevContent’s product compared to other content recommendation feeds. The AutomaticRev guarantee program allows publishers to increase revenue with the same ad placements and ad quality, but with automatic “revenue you can depend on.”

“A lot of companies make claims, but aren’t able to back it up,” Lemp said. “By offering our partners a guarantee, we are able to build trust in our product, and our ability to deliver on promises.”
